Twitter bird →
I’m working on some small graphics, somehow I digged this article up. It’s amazing how Phil’s design of the twitter bird can be used in so many different contexts and styles. With only a silhouette, the image is shows a spirited bird with perky beak. Add eyes, and a top hat, now the twitter bird is celebrating July 4th…
Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost!
This is the last line in the German dance documentary film, Pina. It keeps circling in my head the whole way on the bus ride back home. I haven’t been moved by dance performances for a long time, they were no more than moving images flashing over my eyes, never dwelling any deeper. But this is different, this film of a choreographer’s dance pieces, this is all emotion.

Writings on user experience ideas →
This is probably one of the best writing on UX recommendations I have read. It’s an article on improving the download behaviors in web browsers. Of course it is also written by the UX lead of Mozilla. Nevertheless, this would be something I’d model when having to write an extensive document on design assessment and recommendations.
S. mentioned Frank Chimero in a conversation about design and writing. Curious, I clicked on his link to his yet to be published book, The Shape of Design. I expected a normal, albet well designed video advertising his book idea. Surprisingly I find it quite moving.
Yes I also love the feel of books, the smell of books. I like the sensation of turning a book, hearing the crisp sound of the paper...
English literacy versus English literature
P today told me that how while he hated the way english is taught in high school, he was still able to game the system get the highest score at the end of the day. Of course this doesn’t surprise me, who didn’t use SparkNotes in high school? P believes the classes should focus more on english syntax and grammar.
That leads me to think that, instead of having a curriculum that put...

Best of show, before the show
The ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) is generally considered the most prestigious in the field of human-computer interaction. This year, CHI will be hosted in Vancouver Convention Center. I’m very excited to attend CHI for the first time next week.
This morning I went to the CHI2011’s program page to pick the sessions I will attend next week. Beside the...
